You'll Shoot Your Eye Out!

The Kansas City Royals are so bored with losing they've started shooting their own sports reporters. Outfielder Emil Brown hit KMBC sports reporter Karen Kornacki near her left eye with a pellet gun while she was interviewing Tony Pena Jr. A team trainer got her an ice pack and she left to go see an eye doctor. Emil Brown insists that it was an accident and apologized immediately there after. KMBC’s assistant news director, Gary Roberts, has said that the injury isn't serious.

The Royals are actually better than they were at this time last year and are competing with the White Sox for the honor of not being in last place. They might not even lose 100 games this year! Hooray!

Well, their secondbaseman, Iguchi is gone. He just went to the Royals. And Podsednik is injured, and I believe Crede is as well. Soo.. things are looking pretty bad for the ChiSox. 13.5 behind the AL Central leading Tigers, while the "hot" Royals are doing better than they have over the years, as they are only 15 behind.

Brown is good buddies with Bret Saberhagen and Vince Coleman. The Royals may finish higher than the Sox because the Sox have a group of underachieving veteran who likely will just pack it in.
