Yanks lead WC, Toronto falling

With the past several days of MLB action, the New York Yankees have come within 1.5 games of the Boston Red Sox, and have taken the lead in the AL Wildcard race.
Elsewhere in the AL East, the Toronto Blue Jays continued to stumble, falling to six games back from the Red Sox. While the Red Sox took two out of three from the Oakland Athletics, and the Yankees swept the Texas Rangers, the Seattle Mariners were taking two out of three from the Blue Jays.
While six games is hardly insurmountable, the Jays certainly seem to be headed in the wrong direction of late. This is not the kind of baseball they want to play if they are to fulfill the hopes and dreams of so many Yankees/Red Sox haters. Whether they will be able to turn it around, or the slide will continue until they're closer to the Baltimore Orioles than the Yankees, remains to be seen.
