Yankees slug Birds, and pitch the Wright way!

The Yankees defeated the Orioles in Camden Yards 9-4 Sunday afternoon to win their second straight and win the rubber game of the series with the Orioles. The Yankees magic number is also down to 11 for clinching the AL East as the Boston Red Sox defeated the Kansas City Royals 9-3. Here are my ten reasons why the Yankees won today:
1. With Joe Torre giving Jorge Posada and Alex Rodriguez the day off, their replacements both hit homers. Sal Fasano (unbelievable) and Nick Green both went deep for the Bombers.
2. MVP Candidate SS Derek Jeter continued his fabulous season belting his 13 HR of the season and driving in four runs to ride his total up to 91. Jeter now leads the AL with a .345 clip.
3. The Yankees tagged rookie Baltimore Oriole starter Hayden Penn (0-2) for seven runs in three+ frames of work.
4. Jeter continued his "MVP hits" as his hittings streak has hit 20 games now.
5. The Yankees (85-56) never lose a series to the Baltimore Orioles (62-80)!
6. Jaret Wright (10-7, 4.60 ERA) pitched suberbly through 6 1/3 innings allowing 3 runs on 3 hits. He walked two and fanned two.
7. Ron Villione, Brian Bruney, and Scott Proctor only allowed a run over 1 2/3 innings while strking out 2. The only blemish to the Yankees pitching staff on the game was Oriole catcher Roberto Hernandez who hit 2 homers and drove in all of the Oriole runs.
8. The Yankees kept speedster Brian Roberts and power-hitting Miquel Tejada off the basepaths and that's always good when facing the Birds.
9. Yankees never seem to lose when having an early lead!
10. It was the first NFL Sunday of the year! The Yankees are 5-0 on the last 5 NFL Week 1 Sundays! How about that?
