Yankees Fans: Stop Your Crying!

by user Darreng

There aren't much facts in the post. Just one simple argument that gets my point off.

I'm getting sick and tired of all these Yankee fans complaining on how bad the New York Yankees have been playing this season. Listen, you guys have a payroll over 200 million dollars. Not to mention your 3rd baseman gets paid more than the Tampa Bay Devil Rays and the Florida Marlins. You still have Jeter, A-Rod, Mussina, Posada, Giambi, Mariano and Johnson on your roster. You guys haven't earned the right at all to complain about anything.

Also, will anyone even mentioning Joe Torre as manager of the year please kill yourselves. Please see all my reasons above.

Need to turn off the WFAN dude. Life gets better when you do that, even if the temperatures outside are close to 100!

"Also, will anyone even mentioning Joe Torre as manager of the year please kill yourselves" Wow. That pretty much killed my day. Anyway, name one person who has stated that Joe Torre should earn that award? Not even I said that.

I'm a Yankee fan (in a fashion), and I'm not crying about how we're playing. Some teams would love to be in the Yankees position, and I'm sure the Yankees could win a series or two to get ahead of the Red Sox. With over 60 games left, there's still plenty of time for anything to happen.

What yankee fan is complaining?!?!?! Last I saw, everyone and their brother on this site (read: mets, r. sox and cardinal fans) was saying the yanks were toast. And check your numbers- yanks only pay ~ 15 mil of ARod's salary, Rangers pay the rest. That 15 mil is less than bagwell, manny, helton make. If Torre isn't a valid candidate for MOY, given all the injuries he has had to deal with, than who is, besides Leyland?

Given all the injuries, he still has a lineup other managers dream about...torre is a classic victim of cirrcumstance but not a MoY...not even a candidate...

Right, then, so who would you propose should be the candidates.

MOY has little to do with who is the best or most effective manager, just like MVP in the NBA.

So your basically telling me that MOY has to do with luck? I highly doubt that. Personally, I think it should go to a guy that completely turned his team around (i.e Leyland), or has success with guys that aren't going anywhere near the HOF (Macha). When your 1-2-3-4 guys are Damon, Jeter, A-Rod and Giambi, you shouldn't even be considered.

No, what i am saying is that MOY does not have a true reflection on your value as a manager. Sure Leyland took a sub-par team and has them on top of baseball. Give him the award and I won't argue with you. That still doesn't make him a better manager than Willie Randolph, Terry Francona, Ozzie or Joe.

As a Yankee fan I haven't cried at all about how bad they're playing this year. It would seem kind of silly with them only being a half game out of first. Actually I've really been enjoying seeing some of the young guys (and older like Bernie) step up due to the injuries. I love when people start writing the team off, it usually means good things for them.

Why are you crying about the Yankees fans crying about their team? You're stressing yourself out over the fact that fans of a team you're not even a fan of are ungrateful. I listen to WFAN and i hear the same rhetoric. But I simply laugh silently to myself, slowly turn the radio dial to ESPN 1050 for a while and enjoy the rest of my day.

I have to agree that Yankee fans should stop crying. I am a huge Mets fan and it makes me sick. I do think you have to give credit to the job that Torre has done. With all of the injuries, you have to say this is one of his best jobs yet.

They played Sunday with an outfield of Aaron Guile, Bubba Crosby, and Melky Cabrera. For Torre to endure all of Steinbrenner's random superstar/reach signings or trades (Cecil Fielder, Pavano, Jeff Weaver, Vazquez), stay on the job, and still have success on his terms is pretty incredible. I don't care if they are the Yankees: that's hindered Joe in recent years, at least compared to before. It'd still be nice for any manager to have those talented players.

A-Rod is an absolute joke. After last night's game (3 throwing errors, late inning, bases-loaded strikeout), horrific! If I have any sympathy for Yankees fans at all, it's for the fact that Steinbrenner uses his money to shove over-rated, over-paid idiots like this bum down their throats. No Yankee fan I know wants to have to like this guy.
Tell me this? What exactly was wrong with having Scott Brosius as their 3rd bagger? Hundreds of millions less in salary, a couple of clutch hits that led to a ring or two, a dependable glove? How happy am I that the Sox failed to sign him in '03.

He shouldn't be playing 3rd to begin with, being better at SS than anyone in history, neverless Jeter. Jeter should've moved to CF when it was obvious last yr Bernie was in decline. But at least he plays in the field, more than I can say for some other "mvp" contenders in the Northeast.
