(Barron) What a great Sunday in New York. Eli had 2 touchdowns (one to Shockey, one to Plaxico), Brandon Jacobs ran one in. And the Giants D gave up only 4 points to the Tampa Bay Bucs...uh....wait a minute...4 points....something doesn't seem right here.....what??!!!!?? That was the YANKEES?? They scored 21 runs off of a major league (ok...kind of) team??? Yes..the Yankees got what every struggling team needs to cure them...a visit from the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. But I don't care how bad the D-Rays are. To put on an offensive assault like that is scary...and we owe it all to Shelley Duncan...yup start putting up the monument. Ok, we all said the same thing about Shane Spencer, but it was nice to see a Yankee team that was loose. They honestly had fun this weekend. Sure we didn't make up any games, but the good vibes are back in NY. Everyone is getting healthy, we are getting some pitching back, Torre is finally starting to realize that he can't trust Proctor or Farnsworth, and now the bats are alive!!!! The key now is to win each series. Take 2 of 3 (or 3 of4) and that is all you can ask. We can't do anything about Boston or Cleveland...just keep winning series and hopefully things will take care of themselves. Next up....Kansas City.
(Roc) Here we go... Yankee fans get a burst of offense from a team that is built to do that everyday, and they are packin the bags for the ALDS. Shelley Duncan - Cut from the mold of every Yankee I have ever hated. Clean Cut - Check. Slightly odd name - Check. Oddly smug smile - Check. They are saying it is the "feel good story" . Feel good? WHY? the man was raised around MLB talent his whole life - his brother Chris plays for the Cards, and his Father was A catcher for the A's and now a pitching coach for the Cards. Give me a break.
