To finish it, Eli Manning passed to Plaxico Burress for a touchdown. The Giants won, 24-17.
The Giants needed it. Those were the key words, because it was useful. This team couldn't go 0-3, something would have happen. It wouldn't have been great.
Reuben Droughns was great, the best performer. He had 2 touchdowns, and only 3 yards. Droughns kept the game close, he did his thing.
Manning still needs to improve. He throw 2 interceptions, and got sack 2 times. Eli had 232 yards, and 1 touchdown pass.
The Giants still need to fight. The Cowboys are rowing. Winning against the Chicago Bears, gives everyone an ideal. Their going to explode this season.
"If I put you in that huddle, your ears might bleed," defensive tackle Barry Cofield said. "At that point, it's not about technique, it's not about the call, it's all about getting fired up and realizing what's at stake. We just came off the ball and did what we had to do." The Giants should do this every game, but sometimes smartness becomes an issue. Fire up the team, how come it didn't work last time? This needs to continue.
"Amazing way to win a game," Manning said. "Give a lot of credit to our defense for hanging in tough. To get a goal line stand to win a game, you can't beat that." That's the problem, Eli didn't do enough. His performance was off, the defense was helpful. Credit the defense every time, because they helped the offense.
"I gave him one of those old backyard Virginia Beach moves, and he fell for it," Burress said. "I just had to keep fighting. I've never played like that in the first half. If we would have lost that game, I would have felt horrible." They should feel horrible from last time. Losing to teams they should beat. It's no excuse, their better then that.
