Would you buy a car from the owner of your team?

A man comes up to you in a bar and you get into a conversation. It turns out he's a financial adviser with a fairly reputable firm. You buy a small mutual fund he recommends. It does all right. A week later, a former-friend of the man comes up to you. He tells you the man who you've been handing your money to is a glutton for expensive purchases that don't always work out. If an opposing analyst is handling a bond and the bond is doing well with him, he buys it -- regardless of what that item's future may hold. He's made a lot of money, but he's gone decades with big losses. Do you keep doing business with him?
Of course, this is a very veiled analogy for George Steinbrenner, the man who gets a good deal of my paycheck in tickets, t-shirts, DVD's etc. I know being a fan is emotional. I know that Thurman Munson loomed large in my early life. But, if I had to look at things objectively, am I giving the right man my hard earned cash?
I know that Mets fans have had hate affairs with the Wilpons.
Is there any owner we know of whom we would really feel deserves our money?
