Would They Actually Let Mark Cuban Buy The Cubs?

Well, he's trying. Yup, Mavericks owner and über-blogger Mark Cuban has submitted his paperwork to buy the North Siders, who haven't won the World Series in roughly 182 years. So yeah, this'll be a match made in heaven, seeing as how the Mavs have had so much playoff success recently. (Oh, never mind.)

Incidentally, no one seems to think he'll actually be approved as owner, though he sure has the cash for it. Me? I'd rather see some faithful Chicagoan buy the Cubs and restore them to their 1900's glory. And no, I'm quite sure Oprah is not interested. And no on John Ashcroft, Michael Jordan, and Mike Ditka. Really, one person makes sense. The craziest Cubs fan this side of Wrigley.

I would love to see Cuban own an MLB team, whether it's the Cubs or someone else... if nothing else he would bring a little more excitement in the owner's box.

I see nothing wrong with Cuban buying the Cubs. He'll spend a ton of money on the team. He will bring some excitment to baseball since ole George is slowing in his old age. It would be a good thing.

As a die hard Cub faithful, I would LOVE to see Cuban as the owner... for too long has Cubbie Nation suffored... first the Wrigley's - although they didat least try until the 50s then stopped caring then things getting worse with the Trib... Cub fans deserve better - all the years of being ridiculed, brunt of countless jokes, laughing stock of the MLB, etc etc... as much as many people hate Cuban, he'll do anything to win a championship and for that, I'll more than welcome him into Cubbie Nation...

As a baseball fan, not a Yankee Fan, my attittude is let Cuban by the Cubs. I mean how long did it take the Mavericks to improve when Cuban was owner. Cuban can bring fresh ideas, revenue, and make the Cubs better. I would love to see the Cubs win the World Series in 2008, as a baseball fan.
