Wooky Roberts (Wolcott A. Roberts) was born on September 1, 1897 in Elmwood, Illinois. After going to high school at Central (Peoria, IL), Roberts attended Colgate University and United States Naval Academy. Roberts made his professional debut in the NFL in 1922 with the Canton Bulldogs. He played for the Canton Bulldogs, Cleveland Bulldogs and Frankford Yellow Jackets over the course of his 5 year career.
