Wood done for season?

It's now apparent that Kerry Wood is now done. After throwing a 75 pitch simulated game today, he experienced fatigue.
"I have to figure out when I get to 65 or 70 pitches, it seems to shut down on me. I felt great for 60 pitches but I got to that point, and today it doesn't feel too hot." Wood said in a statement.
Maybe it's best for both the Chicago Cubs and Wood. Maybe now the Cubs can finally get rid of him. Why pay someone $10Mil if he's constantly going to be on the DL? This is the last year of his contract. Next year, the Cubs have a club option for $13Mil with a $3Mil buyout.
As cynical as I am, I'm starting to wonder if in a way, he's faking the fatigue. He just does not like working with Rothchild or Baker. Afterall, Baker is infamous for letting his pitchers in the game way too long. On several occasions the top 3 starters - Wood, Prior & Zambrano have each gone well over 110 pitches and even into the 140 pitch count.
No matter what the cause or reason is for this newest injury, I just hope that Wood finally leaves. This would free up so much needed money to sign a free agent or two that would actually help the team. Stay on the DL Kerry and at the end of the year - don't let the door hit ya on the way out & don't look back!
