Wood Done For Season

Not surprising to anyone, but Chicago Cubs' starting pitcher Kerry Wood will be sidelined the rest of the MLB season while he figures out what to do with the rest of his baseball career. The oft injured pitcher has a partial tear in his right rotator cuff. If he opts for rest the timetable would allow him to throw side seeions in October (at best.) Surgery would keep him down till the off-season. But at age 30 time is running out for the former "Kid K" to establish himself as trust-worhty Major league pitcher. Wood will become a free agent at the end of the year when Cubs buy him out for 3 million dollars. What happens next is anyone's best guess.
