Willie Townes (Willie Carroll Townes) was born on July 21, 1943 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. After going to high school at Rowan (Hattiesburg, MS), Townes attended Indiana University and the University of Tulsa. Townes made his professional debut in the NFL in 1966 with the Dallas Cowboys. He played for the Dallas Cowboys and New Orleans Saints over the course of his 4 year career.

Most people believe that 1968 was Willie Townes's best year, as he ran back a fumble for a touchdown.
