Willie Kirkland (Willie Charles Kirkland) was born on February 17, 1934 in Siluria, Alabama. He made his Major League debut on April 15, 1958 for the San Francisco Giants. In 1958, his rookie year, he hit .258 with 14 home runs and 56 RBI. Kirkland played for the San Francisco Giants, Cleveland Indians, Washington Senators and Baltimore Orioles over the course of his 9 year career.

Most people believe that Willie Kirkland's best season was 1961, when he slugged 27 home runs and knocked in 95 runs.
