Willie Jones (Willie Edward Jones) was born on August 16, 1925 in Dillon, South Carolina. He made his Major League debut on September 10, 1947 for the Philadelphia Phillies. In 1949, his rookie year, he hit .244 with 19 home runs and 77 RBI. Jones played for the Philadelphia Phillies, Cleveland Indians and Cincinnati Reds over the course of his 15 year career.

Most people believe that Willie Jones's best season was 1950, when he slugged 25 home runs and knocked in 88 runs.
