Willie Gillespie (Willie E. Gillespie) was born on October 24, 1961 in Starkville, Mississippi. After going to high school at Starkville (MS), Gillespie attended Eastern Mississippi JC and the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga. Gillespie made his professional debut in the NFL in 1986 with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He played for the Minnesota Vikings and Tampa Bay Buccaneers over the course of his 2 year career.

Most people believe that 1987 was Willie Gillespie's best year.
