[edit] Biography

Born on June 2, 1967 in Houston, Texas, Mike Stanton (William Michael Stanton) played for the Atlanta Braves, Boston Red Sox, Texas Rangers, New York Yankees, New York Mets, Washington Nationals and San Francisco Giants over the course of his 18 year career. Stanton broke into the bigs on August 24, 1989 with the Atlanta Braves, and put up a 2.88 ERA in 78 innings pitched in 1991, his rookie year.

There is some disagreement on what was Mike Stanton's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1993, when he posted a 4.67 ERA and notched 27 saves. However, others believe that it was 2001, when he posted a 2.58 ERA and struck out 78 batters.
