Born on February 10, 1893 in Reidsville, North Carolina, Bill Evans (William James Evans) played for the Pittsburgh Pirates for his entire 3 year career. Evans broke into the bigs on August 13, 1916 with the Pittsburgh Pirates, and put up a 3.00 ERA in 63 innings pitched in 1916, his rookie year.
