Bill Gleason (William G. Gleason) was born on November 12, 1858 in St. Louis, Missouri. He made his Major League debut on May 2, 1882 for the St. Louis Browns. In 1882, his rookie year, he hit .288 with 1 home run and 0 RBI. Gleason played for the St. Louis Browns, Philadelphia Athletics and Louisville Colonels over the course of his 8 year career.
Most people believe that Bill Gleason's best season was 1887, when he hit for a .288 average and knocked in 76 runs.
