Born on October 27, 1961 in Portland, Maine, Bill Swift (William Charles Swift) played for the Seattle Mariners, San Francisco Giants and Colorado Rockies over the course of his 13 year career. Swift broke into the bigs on June 7, 1985 with the Seattle Mariners, and put up a 4.77 ERA in 120.2 innings pitched in 1985, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Bill Swift's best season was 1993, when he posted a 2.82 ERA, won 21 games and struck out 157 batters.
