Will Someone Please Bring Back The Kids

I'm fed up.
Fed up with our U.S. Olympic Basketball Team being represented by a bunch of self-centered players that look like they belong to the NDA (No Defense Allowed) league instead of the NBA.
Our first Dream Team acted like one. A group of MEN who played the game one way and one way only. To win. A dream that they turned into reality by destroying every team that met them on the court. An art that seems to have escaped the so called men who play the game now.
The rest of the world figured out what our first Dream Team did. Play as a team defensively and offensively, and do everything in your human power to beat the other team . Pretty simple. Maybe too simple.
Lets give this team back to the college players. Remember them. The ones that really understood what they were there to do. The ones who didn't care about what endorsement deal they were going to get out of playing for OUR country. The ones who actually listened to their coach because they still had the unique ability of respecting their coach. These were the players, like our first Dream Team, that gave their all on every possession whether it was on offense or defense. Got bloody and bruised for any loose ball or rebound. They just didn't do the basics, they mastered the basics for every play because that's what was expected of them and nothing less.
Will someone please bring these kids back because I still have not had anyone explain to me how these kids could do any worse than the garbage that's been put out on that court lately. I would rather see a team of college kids go down in a blaze of glory, than watch a bunch of spoiled millionares wimper, whine, and give excuses on why they have no heart.
I've heard people say that the way the game is played has changed. What a bunch of bull. You might as well say the art of making babies has changed. I've discovered when you master the basics, you get great results in both fields.
So let's see this team go back to the fledglings of the court. The kids. Maybe they can show the rest of the world that this country still has some heart. Maybe they can do for our country what a bunch of so called men can no longer do.
Play with unity. Play with pride. Play to win. And, do it with good ol' fashioned American know how.
