Born on July 29, 1864 in Brimfield, Ohio, Will Sawyer (Willard Newton Sawyer) played for the Cleveland Spiders for his entire 1 year career. Sawyer broke into the bigs on July 21, 1883 with the Cleveland Spiders, and put up a 2.36 ERA in 141 innings pitched in 1883, his rookie year.
