Will Rutgers Land Lance Thomas?

One of the nation's premier high school recruits will announce his college destination for next season at a press conference today at 4PM.

Lance Thomas, a 6-8 forward from St. Benedict's Prep in Newark, has narrowed his choices down to hometown Rutgers Univeristy, defending national champion Florida, and perrenial powerhouse Duke.

While Rutgers looks like it has no chance to compete with Duke and Florida, Thomas is a NJ guy who has mentioned that he wants to help Rutgers win a title.

Landing Thomas would be huge for Rutgers, a Big East team who have constantly failed to attract the best talent in their own backyard. If Thomas signs, it would possibly open the door to other top NJ players who are close with Lance.
