Wildcats and Beavers, Oh My!

So usually it's Lions and Tigers and Bears, Oh My!. There aren't any Lions in college football (to my knowledge), but the Louisiana State University Tigers and University of California Bears came into their games on Saturday night #1 and #2 in the polls, respectively, and undefeated.
Not anymore!
LSU got beaten by the Kentucky Wildcats in triple overtime 43-37, and Cal got beaten by Oregon State 31-28. LSU's defense looked more vulnerable than it had all season. Cal QB Nate Longshore did not play, and he was replaced with backup Kevin Riley, who was leading Cal on a drive before he scrambled instead of throwing the ball with 12 seconds to play, and time ran out before the field goal unit had the chance to take the field.
Holy smokes.
So Ohio State, #3 in the polls, will most likely take over the top spot after demolishing Kent State 48-3. My guess is LSU will slide to #2. From there, it's absolute madness. Boston College, #4 in this week's poll, was unimpressive in a 27-13 win at Notre Dame, but they may slide into the #3 spot. Other notable upsets were Iowa over Illinois and Penn State over Wisconsin.
Don't you just love college football?
