Born on June 3, 1867 in Cincinnati, Ohio, Wild Bill Widner (William Waterfield Widner) played for the Cincinnati Reds, Washington Senators, Columbus Colts and Cincinnati Porkers over the course of his 5 year career. Widner broke into the bigs on June 8, 1887 with the Cincinnati Reds, and put up a 2.82 ERA in 115 innings pitched in 1888, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Wild Bill Widner's best season was 1889, when he won 12 games and struck out 63 batters.
