Born on May 20, 1897 in Bonita, Texas, Wilcy Moore (William Wilcy Moore) played for the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox over the course of his 6 year career. Moore broke into the bigs on April 14, 1927 with the New York Yankees, and put up a 2.28 ERA in 213 innings pitched in 1927, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Wilcy Moore's best season was 1927, when he posted a 2.28 ERA, won 19 games, notched 13 saves and struck out 75 batters.
