Wickey McAvoy (James Eugene McAvoy) was born on October 20, 1894 in Rochester, New York. He made his Major League debut on September 29, 1913 for the Philadelphia Athletics. In 1915, his rookie year, he hit .190 with 0 home runs and 6 RBI. McAvoy played for the Philadelphia Athletics for his entire 6 year career.
