Why does the MLB website have "NASA" in its address?

I've noticed it for a while now that "NASA" is in the MLB website address. Is MLB sponsored by NASA or something? Anyone know why?

I wondered that! I didn't link it to the organisation in Houston though... I always wondered why it had mlb.mlb.com too...

It stands for Netscape Application Server Application. You'll notice the whole bit is "NASApp".

Well, the homepage for the Indians is indians.mlb.com, so I guess they just made it mlb.mlb.com for consistency.
