Why Not Trade For A-Rod?

Now that the Yankees season is over, the hot topic on baseball radio shows is what teams will try and aquire A-Rod, and which teams could use him the most. As a resident of Southern California, many of the local radio shows are talking about what a great fit A-Rod would be for the Angels or the Dodgers. Let me go over a couple reasons why A-Rod is not worth trading top notch talent for for any team. First of all, Alex Rodriguez is one of the best players in baseball during the regular season, but one of the worst duirng the post season. Most teams that could afford A-Rod don't have trouble just getting to the post season. For example the Dodgers; the Dodgers almost always make it to the playoffs, just to get booted out in the first round. A-Rod's chronic October choke fest would not help the Dodgers with this at all. Or a team like the Angels, who would have to give up to much talent either at the major or minor league levels. They might as well look for someone in free agency, which brings me to my next point. If you are going to spend 16$ million to bring in A-Rod, as well as give up substantial talent you might as well just make a bid for Alfonso Soriano. Here you are getting a guy who will hit 40 homers, steal 40 bags, and hit 40 doubles. Arguably the best all around player in the game. Not to mention you dont have to trade away any of your other talent just to get him. Besides, both the Dodgers and the Angels should be more concerned about spending the money they have on aquiring some pitching.
