Why Michigan has gotta get rid of 'ol Lloyd Carr

If Michigan ever wants to get to the top, I mean a BCS, championship, they must get rid of Head Coach Lloyd Carr. Yes, I know Carr has already won back-to-back Big Ten championships (with only 3 competitive teams) in 2003 and 2004, I know he has a high winning percentage (b/c of the WEAK BIG ELEVEN Conference and WEAK out of Conference schedule), and that he won a national championship in 1997. That championship in ‘97 wasn’t a BCS Championship.
Yes, Carr is a good coach, I’ll give him that. (no he is not, he has NO SYSTEM) However, is he a great coach, a national title coach like Nick Saban SEC, Urban Myer SEC, Spurrier SEC, or Pete Carroll? Both of these guys could win the big game. I’m not sure that Carr can do that. In fact, he’s proven he can’t. Michigan has lost to arch-rival Ohio State three times in the past four years. Their only victory coming in a landslide in ‘03. He also has a losing record in Bowl Games, the Alamo Bowl this year, the Rose Bowl twice, and the Citrus Bowl a few years before. Why does he loose the big one? Conservative play calling is the answer my friend. Remember the 2004 Sugar Bowl? Saban sent multiple blitz packages at the Sooners, causing them to make mistakes. They were attacking first, not the Sooners. Remember the 2005 Orange Bowl? Norm Chow took advantage of every mismatch, even if ‘SC didn’t have a supporting cast, right Bob Griese. They were attacking too.
Lloyd Carr doesn’t attack, he plays conservatively and waits for his opponant to make the first move. He’ll punt for field position, kick a field if down by four, and run on 3rd & 22. They need to relax, it seems like he has a pole stuck up both buttcheeks afraid to make a move. By no means am I a Michigan hater. In fact, I probably like them fairly well. I would like to see them get rid of Carr, so they actually have a chance of winning the title.
