Its rare that you'll get an entire post dedicated to one man's fandom but here it is. Recently fellow ArmchairGM user I am a cpcp, has been trying to find a favorite NFL team. However, he dismissed the idea of becoming a Packers fan. Here it why he should at least re-consider.
1. I am sure that I am a cpcp was bitter when the Cleveland Browns become the Baltimore Ravens in 1995. Unlike all 31 other NFL team, the Packers are never going to move because the city of Green Bay owns the team (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Green_Bay_Packers_Board_of_Directors).
2. They are a midwest team. You are an Ohio guy so why not cheer for a midwest team that will possibly get T.V. time in Ohio.
3. A.J. Hawk and Brett Favre. Why not support a former Buckeye in Hawk. Who can't love A.J. Hawk. he sacked Brady Quinn and then married his sistaer. How sweet is that. You also have a Brett Favre fan box; so I assume that you like number 4.
4. They have tradition. I prefer College Football more than the NFL. However, with all the tradition and loyal fans in a small town, the Packers almost seem to be like a college team.
5. You wouldn't be bandwagoning. Hey they were 4-12 and then 8-8. Its not bandwagoning its just coming to your senses.
6. It's a young team. Is there anything better than watching a young team devlop? It'll be a blast to watch all the young Packers become stars.
7. The Front Office is stable. Teams like Green Bay, New England, Indianapolis, Philadelphia, and Denver, have all become consistent winners over the past decade. Why? They all have stable front offices. Teams that draft well and select good coaches. Is is a surprise that Matt Millen's Lions and Al Davis's Raiders continue to experience losing seasons.
Hurray up and become a Cheesehead today. If you do decide to become a Packer fan than you can open this link. It may convince you. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CFVksXMbVHw).
