Why Hockey is a GARBAGE SPORT..

(Roc) I've had hatred in my heart for hockey since I was a child. Serious Hatred. It's a B.S. sport, there is two requirements - ability to skate and endurance. Thats it. Athletes with skill need not apply. Let's face it, of the two requirements - well both of them can be acquired by pretty much anyone - think about it, I've seen little girls skating circles around everyone at skating rinks. As for endurance? Visit any modified cross country practice.
There is no finesse to Hockey, no offensive minded schemes, or defensive for that matter. And yes, I understand and know hockey. someone get the puck, shoot it to the goal - doesn't matter how you get there, no rhyme or reason, just get there... maybe check someone along the way. Rinse and repeat. You don't need to be intelligent, nor athletically gifted, just skate and be coordinated enough to hit a puck. In fact, pressing the remote past the hockey channel is more talent than all 3 periods of any hockey game.
This is why America hates this sport, we are more "sports intelligent" than this hobby. Yes hobby, exactly what it is. Teach any decent high school football player to skate - they will be in the NHL in no time. I could go on and on, but by the time I am finished with this article the NHL may not even exist anymore.

Barron is just trying to get a rise out of all of us by coming up with the dumbest thing I've read since Manny's last comment. When you break down all sports they are pretty basic- be it hit a ball with a stick and run around in a diamond, throw a ball in a hoop, hit something in a net, hit a ball across a net, whatever- in fact that's his entire argument- Barron you have not come up with any other facts to base your opinion other than hockey is dumb because it requires you to hit a puke in a net- that's stupid- you are being stupid... here is a prize for your well written article here (props to Tyrone)
