Why Does Kobe Have to Play Basketball On Christmas???

Christmas- a religious holiday- a time to praise the birth of baby jesus and show our love, appreciation, and respect for our lord--

So why does the NBA have to play games on it??? Why did the NFL play when Christmas fell on Sunday?

It isn't right, it's wrong, and Christian people shouldn't have to "work" on Christmas-

Shame on the NBA!!!!

Then no games during Kwanzaa, Hanukah, Ramadan or on the birth day of the Flying Spaghetti Monster. You just try and stir up trouble don't you Jamel.

Jamel may have actually hit on a worthy point here. Why does the NBA operate on Christmas?

Because a ton of people have the day off and will watch day games, thereby making the league a lot of money. It's the same reason why the NFL has games on Thanksgiving and MLB on Memorial Day, admittedly with the added wrinkle of religion.

Thanksgiving and Memorial Day aren't a religious holiday- some things shouldn't be all about money and how many people are going to watch- let these athletes also have a family life- could you imagine your little love ones wanting to open presents on Christmas morning but you can't be there because you have to play a "game"? Sad. Breaks my heart. Baby jesus must be spinning in his grave.... what that doesn't make sense....... :)

Plenty of people have to work on Christmas, and they don't make nearly as much as the NBA players. What makes them so special?

The only people who should be working on Christmas are people who have jobs where it is a NECESSITY- like some doctors and nurses at the ER-- or the lady who sells beer- stuff like that- But it isn't NECESSARY to play basketball on christmas- sorry- it's offensive to me and wrong-

I can see how it sucks for the teams, arena staff, etc., but the NBA Christmas day game is a tradition in many families, mine including. The league always tries to schedule some sort of good game. Christmas day in 1997 was great watching the Jazz getting some revenge against the Bulls. This year's ABC game is Cleveland/Miami which is going to be awful. They should have put Phoenix/Lakers on national tv instead.

A picture of a burning log is more exciting than Cavaliers vs Heat.

To make it interesting, they should just have Lebron James challenge Dwayne Wade to American Gladiators, with the winner getting the W for their team.

Only if he continues to stuff the "stocking" with diamonds.

Now that I think about it, this will be the fourth Dwayne Wade and Shaq family Christmas Extravaganza. The Heat played the Lakers the last three years on Christmas day.
