Why 'Teflon' Jack Warner hates England

by Foolsgold

If you want an interesting read about CONCACAF and Trinidad football head Jack Warner, his interesting relationship with FIFA President Sepp Blatter, and his persistent attacks against English Football, Brain Glanville gives his two cents on the subject here.

It's really no secret to those who are knowledgeable and care about the game in Europe. England has and always will be the standard of excellence on and off the pitch when it comes to football not only on the continent, but in the world. Corrupt individuals obsessed with greed like Jack Warner have no defense but to make vile and attacking comments to divert attention from their exploits.

England doesn't have match-fixing scandals nor suitcase incidents. England doesn't have shady dealings where players are owned by two and three teams that pass that player between them in exchange for imaginary amounts of money so they can cook their books. England doesn't play the 'I'll scratch your back if you scratch mine' game that FIFA likes to play. Jack Warner does and not for the better of the game, but for the better of his bank account.

Jack Warner is a prime example of everything that's wrong with football, but who cares, right? It's only the integrity of the game that suffers in the end. If you want to read more on the subject, I highly recommend Andrew Jennings site, Transparency in Sport.

While I tend to agree with the fact that the English game is run more professionally than a great many other leagues there are still problems. The Carlos Tevez saga from last season comes to mind and the alleged bungs scandal in shich Sam Allardyce may have taken part in. But even with that there is no match fixing as there has been in Italy and player passing as happens in South America, so I would say the English game is much healthier.

Oh ya I forgot all about the Bungs, there were a couple of Championship managers who had to basciall disown their foolish sons to keep their jobs. Also KEN BATES.... HELLO KEN BATES STILL OWNS LEEDS! This who arguement by foolsgold is well, foolish.

The Bungs?! You're having a laugh, right? What became of that again? Oh, nothing, that's right.

Ken Bates? What did Ken Bates do other than be a bad businessman or a smart businessman depending on how you look at it? Oh, was it the name calling or 'tapping up' accusations? Please, in the end, it's really nothing even close compared to match-fixing.

Stick to your LA teams.

The thing about the Carlos Tevez situation is that if it were to happen in any other league barring the French Ligue 1, there wouldn't have even been a second thought. The fact that it even came to fruition is because the Premiership chooses to run it's league with the highest standards in Europe.

" England has and always will be the standard of excellence on and off the pitch " If the English FA is what you call excellence then your basis of thinking is rubbish.

"England doesn't have shady dealings where players are owned by two and three teams that pass that player between them in exchange for imaginary amounts of money so they can cook their books"

Nope they just like to let Players (Tevez) play with a team he isn't registered with so that he can save West Ham and send Sheff. Utd down.

"England doesn't play the 'I'll scratch your back if you scratch mine' game that FIFA likes to play."

why don't we ask the Refs who work Man United home games? How about we ask the Media and FA about Liverpool?

Jack Warner is a huge wanker and an even bigger C-U-Next-Tuesday. But your holding up England as like this golden child that has no wrong doing is shambolic and ya kinda look like a wanker doing it. Not your best work and you have lots of unsubstansiated arguments that are easliy discounted by the evidence out there.

Tevez wasn't shady at all, nothing compared to what they do in Serie A by having multiple clubs own a player and then sell percentages of their rights to cook their books and increase their stock value. At least the FA addresses these issues unlike the Italians who just 'ignore it'.

The Refs who work Man U matches? Are you freaking kidding me? What match, the first leg of the Roma CL matches? Yeah, Herbert Fandel is always known for giving English sides a fair game. And if Man U gets all the calls in Europe, then why don't they have more than 2 European/CL Cups? Rubbish.

You've been listening to World Soccer Daily too much, which is a horrible show. And no, none of my arguments can unsubstantiated, but then again, that would take an effort on your part to go to the links, but it looks like you'd rather just slag off on people than learn something.

It is by no means perfect. Tell me a sports organisation that is?

Referees are professional. There is a panel in place that rates the standard of each refereed match. Anything below par will see that referee off the panel.

Besides, why does he care?! He is the coach of Trinidad & Tobago! When they have such a wonderful system in place, that is superior to the European systems, then he should complain. I don't see any of his arguments at all.

With respect to Tevez, that wasn't a footballing issue in the end. It was a legal one. If he came from any country but Argentina, or Brazil, there wouldn't have been a problem.

Also, if his opinions were so impressive, it would be news in England. This is the first I've heard about it!

Alex, most of the Jack Warner issues are buried by Sepp Blatter threatening to take away media member's rights as well as threatening to file lawsuits. It has been reported in England, but quickly suppressed to escape further action from Sepp Blatter. Andrew Jennings has talked about this again and again. FIFA is a powerful organization as it controls the world's most popular sport.

And as for the English FA, they may be a good ole boys club and I may disagree with a lot of their decisions, but they are by no means shady nor corrupt.
