Whoa, Burbank is in the news!

Wow, two hours before my dad was scheduled to return from Sacramento and land at Bob Hope Airport in Burbank, the airport became the center of attention. Why you say? Well, its because a private jet, carrying Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez and six others, overran a runway at the airport and was brought to a halt by an arresting system.

Fortunately for Yankee fans, none of the seven passengers on board were injured including A-Rod.

Six years ago, a similar accident happened at the airport when a Southwest Airlines jet skidded off a runway and crashed through a concrete barrier, injuring 43 passengers and the captain.

the airline "industry" is fine. Not a good week for private plane pilots. Oh, wait... no it's just a regular week for aviation (um, there are 'incidents' almost everyday but moost don't happen with Yankees aboard), and a good week for the media.. hey, there's stuff non-Foley to talk about now!
