Who is the best team in the NL right now?

It is not the Cubs, that I know for sure.

I mean, even though the mets lost 2 outta 3 from the d-backs, they have the best record in the NL. D-back aren't even winning their division. Lots of teams will get hot, only 4 will enter the playoffs... I gotta go Mets, especially with how they coped with injuries...should the phils have a good series (2 outta 3 or hopefully a sweep) and then the mets struggle with the AL central (which is extremely possible), then I might rethink it...but for now...its the Mets

The DBacks should concentrate on being one of the top 2 teams in their division for now. The Mets are the class of the NL; only San Diego (and maybe Atlanta) are close.

I agree with Ju and Davis... it's got to be the Mets. I think that despite their recent cold streak, the Brewers deserve to be in the conversation as well.

Mets have second best record in baseball with the Red Sox being 2 wins better. With Orlando Hernandez pitching again and Carlos Delgado hitting again they should win the NL East. I am a Braves fan but with Chipper Jones out and the starting pitching suspect once you get past Smoltz and Hudson I am not counting on them winning the division this year.

How about some love for the Houston Astros....the best worst team in the NL....

The Cubs will come around and beat everyone. Next year is here!

At the end of the year, when it's all said and done, I'm going to go with the Mets. Glavine doesn't have his best stuff right now, but chances are that he'll do better later on since he's determined to get that 300th win. He's just been in a slump these past couple of weeks, that's all. Pedro is coming back in September, I believe. You got a good bullpen, some good defence, a good closer (probably 2nd or 3rd in the NL) and one of the best starting lineups overall in MLB today. Chavez, Beltran, Delgado, Valentin, Lo Duca, Reyes, Wright, etc. They're a really well balanced team overall and they'll do just as good as they did last year.
