Who are the Untouchables?

Since Mel Gibson fell from grace/saved face: Who in sports broadcasting is absolutely UNTOUCHABLE? Someone who can only be revered (or if mocked, in admiration).
I was thinking this while listening to the Dan Patrick Show on the radio. Not because I thought Dan was the Untouchable, but because of that ESPN Sportscenter Radio madman Dan "The Duke" Davis. I thought to myself, how can ANYONE not like 'the Duke'? Great presence, always keep things in perspective... just a regal presence. Thus 'the Duke'.
Now Dan Patrick isn't quite Untouchable in my book because I can see a certain slice of the population that would just think he's smarmy and never gave him a chance. Same with Stuart Scott. Liked by the majority, but I can see people getting nauseous of him.
So I got to thinking... WHO are the "Untouchables"? Who are the guys could absolutely do NO WRONG and making fun of them couldn't be done with malice? Who are the media guys EVERYONE loves?
So I got to thinking...The first name that came to mind (probably for you too)
He's a gimme.
I kept trying and coming up with controvesial foot-in-mouths, preposterous know-it-alls, putzes whose Dads were legendary broadcasters, former athletes that point too much... it was hard!
- Dr. Jack Ramsay - It's gotta be hard to hate that guy (Unless you're a fan of the 1977 Sixers). Come on, He's the Doctor that handed it to the Dr.
- Tim Legler - he's even-keeled. Knowledgeable, but real. Perfectly calm while working with Greg Anthony and Stephen Aloysius Smith. Nicknamed "Legs".
- Tom Jackson - everyone respects his knowledge. He's wise in choosing arguments, handles the big boys with ease. Other than being a Bronco, has done no wrong.
- Eddie Johnson - former player does analysis on PHX Suns games. GREAT announcer. Cool demeanor, let's you feel like you're a part of the game. Verbally abuses Charles Barkley about his golf game. Eddie may have profited from Barkley's gambling more than anyone.
- Keith Jackson - another no-brainer. Can you re-play a college football game in your head and not hear him?
- Jayson Stark - great writer. True stat-geek. Enjoyed his work since forever ago! Long Live Steve Jeltz!
- Melissa Stark - Did she ever ask a bad question?
- Mr. T - anytime he has a microphone in his hand, I'm listening.
- Jim Lampley - But maybe only for his love of boxing / olympics.
- Howard Lederer - this guy is endlessly entertaining. I wish I could hire him to attend/announce my family holiday events.
- that hockey guy, Whatshisname. Put the puck in the net, biscuit in the basket, eh? I love that guy! Gotta love him.
- Big Daddy Al Michaels - Who do you know that says "Dude, Al Michaels is announcing? This game is gonna suck?"
- Summer Sanders - they're ALL good lists, Summer.
- Dara Torres-Gowen - I miss you on TV!
I hear Johnny Miller (sp?) is very good. I don't watch golf (or car racing or tennis that much) That's why I need your help!
Everybody else has flaws in their game... Hubie and Pat Summerall are living dead. Madden speaks another language only understood by Brett Favre and Frank Caliendo. Fox's James Brown is right there, but he's just too generic to have that name. Everyone else is annoying (Thom Brennamen), pompous (Joe Buck), or just unbearable (Tim McCarver) or gets minus points for past deeds (Marv Albert). I know some people dislike Kenny Mayne, although I have no idea how. Man is flavor.
If you think I'm wrong, we'll save ourselves some time... I'm beyond reproach, so there!
So that's my list. I know I'm missing a whole bunch of people...please add to my list of 'untouchables'...looking for people in the media that have no enemies and are overly beloved by the public. If there's ANY argument, there's NOT an argument...If you can argue against my list, then I'm plain wrong! Simple as that.
