Who's AGM's Best Commenter?

Today, I decided to toy around with Microsoft Excel a little before I got down to my real (and own) work. But as I took at look at the top fans and the added categories (which, by the way, is a lot of fun…good work founders!), I noted that the stats are a bit misleading.
Let’s get this out of the way early, this little “experiment” was not designed with the intention to mock anyone (or at least anyone who can’t take it). It was more to take a look at my favorite part of the site (commenting) and analyze who’s actually good at it and/or adds to the site by commenting. At first gander, the top 5 commenters on the site are Manny Stiles, myself, Alex Holowczak, Christof and False Prophet. That would be three total blowhards from Southeastern Pennsylvania and two teenagers…one of which is from the United Kingdom. These people could not be the best commenters on the site, could they?
So of course, I expanded my view to who had the most “Thumbs Up.” That led to a similar list, except DNL had taken the place of False Prophet. But of course the 4 above would have the most “thumbs up,” they have the most comments.
I moved on to a slight investigation of minuses, slowly creating the simplest of formulas, resulting in the following list (Note, only the top 50 commenters of all time are listed and I’m sorry if I didn’t include you) as of about 9:00AM on August 21, 2007:
As you can see on the above image I have listed the total comments, total thumbs up, total thumbs down and (thumbs up minus thumbs down) for each of the top 50 commenters.
So using a simple formula in Excel, I divided the Total “Thumbs Up” by the total comments to get an “Average Positive Comment Score.” You’ll note that old member Friskysman averages almost 1.5 thumbs up per comment, best on AGM. Awrigh01 is worst of the founders (who are all in the top 15) with an average of about 1 thumb up per comment (still incredibly good).
And so Finally, I took the total “Thumbs Up” and subtracted the “Thumbs Down” to get a raw positive (or in some cases negative) comment score and divided that by total comments to get a true average of value of comments.
So let’s congratulate The shark for being the best commenter on the site. Over 95% of his comments receive a positive overall score, highest among AGMers. Davis21Wylie should also be congratulated as being top 10 in comments and ranking highly in the positive comment score.
So of course, my point is, blowhards like myself, may garner tons of stats and comment themselves into oblivion, but those of you who measure your words carefully are the best
Addendum
For those of your who were curious about who receive the least negatives, I decided to post the sheet for that as well. Not suprisingly, Niteowl049 received the fewest negatives...mostly because he never has anything bad to say and is well respected, for both his sports knowledge and worldly knowledge.
