Whitey Platt

Whitey Platt (Mizell George Platt) was born on August 21, 1920 in West Palm Beach, Florida. He made his Major League debut on September 16, 1942 for the Chicago Cubs. In 1946, his rookie year, he hit .251 with 3 home runs and 32 RBI. Platt played for the Chicago Cubs, Chicago White Sox and St. Louis Browns over the course of his 5 year career.
Most people believe that Whitey Platt's best season was 1948, when he knocked in 82 runs.
