Born on June 10, 1912 in Tuscarawas, Ohio, Whitey Moore (Lloyd Albert Moore) played for the Cincinnati Reds and St. Louis Cardinals over the course of his 7 year career. Moore broke into the bigs on September 27, 1936 with the Cincinnati Reds, and put up a 3.49 ERA in 90.1 innings pitched in 1938, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Whitey Moore's best season was 1939, when he posted a 3.45 ERA, won 13 games and struck out 81 batters.
