Born on September 27, 1907 in Kensington, Georgia, Whit Wyatt (John Whitlow Wyatt) played for the Detroit Tigers, Chicago White Sox, Cleveland Indians, Brooklyn Dodgers and Philadelphia Phillies over the course of his 16 year career. Wyatt broke into the bigs on September 16, 1929 with the Detroit Tigers, and put up a 3.57 ERA in 85.2 innings pitched in 1930, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Whit Wyatt's best season was 1941, when he posted a 2.34 ERA, won 22 games and struck out 176 batters.
