Which 2006 NBA Draft Pick Will Be The Difference-Maker?

by user The Widening Geier

With a largely underwhelming 2006 NBA Draft, I wonder who will be the impact players in the upcoming season. Last year Chris Paul delighted the Hornet faithful, Bogut showed flashes, and the North Carolina contingent were not overly impressive. So who do you all see as the rookies who will be making a difference in 06?

I think Aldridge would have made an immediate impact with the Bulls, but obviously that's not an option now. I like Thomas long-term, but from what I've seen, I think he really needs to refine his play, and that his contributions will be more long-term. I suppose I'd have to pick Thomas, if I had to choose one, though. I think Gay also could have had an immediate impact in Houston, but they inexplicably traded him for Battier. I think Bargnani will be a profect, plus he's going into Toronto, a team that's never seen real success. I think Morrison and Shelden Williams will make great contributions, but again, their teams stink. So, given the chances to succeed, I really like Thomas in Chicago.

Reynaldo Balkman. His drafting will be the final straw in ending the Isaiah Thomas Era, and therefore let the Knicks return to the land of respectability....someday.

i like JJ for rookie of the year, just because the Magic should be good, and he should get open looks, but long term I am with Thomas because I like the passion that he plays with

I think that Novak will shoot his way onto a decent team, and that we haven't seen the last of Pittsnoggle and Pops Mensu-Bonsu. On a serious note, watch out for Hassan Adams. I think the kid will show out in the league.

Going by player, situation, and circumstance, give me Adam Morrison. He'll fit right in and be the #1 scoring option on that team right away. Barring injuries, this team could make a playoff run.
