Where could Trotter go?

by Simms1156

As everybody now knows the Philadelphia Eagles have released Jeremiah Trotter. The important question now is where will Trotter go from here? I decided to examine some possibilities.

Washington Redskins- Why not try again with an aging veteran? How else would the Redskins build an old team.

New York Giants- Steve Spangulo is the new Giants defensive coordinater and was Trotter,'s linebacker coach in Philly.

New Orleans Saints- They seem to like Eagles rejects. ( Dhani Jones, Mark Simoneau, Hollis Thomas.)

Indianapolis Colts- They might want a run stopping mlb that comes at a cheap price.

Denver Broncos- They cut Al Wilson so they might need a run stopper/ leader.

Minnesota Vikings- Donatarrius Thomas is inexperienced.

Retirement- He is getting up there in age, and the fact that he has no cartilage in his knees isn't a positive

He ends up in retirement. The boy cannot run any longer.

If he is a man, he realizes that his career is over and retires. He is a boy if he fights reality and plays.

Guess that makes Roger Clemens a fetus.

That may be a fair comment about Clemmens. I, however, would also call Clemens a boy. A spoiled brat of a boy....

Please have that moment captured on video should you ever have the opportunity to call either Roger Clemens or Jeremiah Trotter "boy" face to face. Thanks.

Dude, both of them have been called worse to their face. Being called a boy by a nobody is not going to cause a reaction from them.

Yea I dont see where calling somebody boy would be so bad. I thought the first time you said it about Trotter you meant it as a race thing which I could understand. I do not understand why it would be so bad to call Clemens a boy.

Me calling anybody a boy is not a race thing. I call it like I see. Race does not, has not, and will not, play a part in how I call things.

And I'm sure Jerimiah Trotter will agree with that view as well. Just ask him.

I wasnt saying it was, I know Tyrone has been sensitive to race issues in the past and was aking him why it would be offensive to Clemens.

Men don't refer to other men as "boys" in a critical sense. Ever. And that is something understood by men, especially proud self-respecting African American men.

Well with that out of the way I also believe he will retire.

The Eagles said he hasnt been able to pass a physical for a while now.

As a side note, for a signing to go through the league office does the player have to pass a physical or is that up to the team?

Trotter has never...ever...passed an NFL physical... And no, he doesn't need to pass, but it alters the contract and stipulations if he fails one and the team knows...

The only team that I can really see is the Redskins because they seem to like overpaid old name players. By the way, Donatarrius Thomas isn't a starter for the Vikings, E.J. Henderson is.

Too late. The Redskins already overpaid Trotter four years ago.

How about the Pats, where all the rest of the old or injury prone players go?

Yea I thought E.J. Henderson was the starter but for some reason couldnt place his name. So I went to the Vikings web site and checked their depth chart and their only linebacker listed was D. Thomas. Thanks for correcting my error

EJ was an outside linebacker last year, and Thomas is his primary backup so the site might have just not been updated yet.

He's headed down to Tampa for a tryout. The Bucs already put 2 LBs on IR and Gruden likely wants him to give them a better shot at the playoffs. http://www.p...es/view/3245

He wouldn't end up in Denver. They cut Al Wilson for pretty much the same mentality as Philly cut Trotter. Injuries and the fact that he wouldn't pass a physical. The Broncos will be fine shifting D.J. Williams to the middle, with Ian Gold playing weakside backer and Nate Webster holding the fort on the strong side until if/when Warrick Holdman comes back from his spinal cord concussion.

I know he can't Justin, talked about that the other day. I was saying DEN wouldn't sign him especially since they got rid of Wilson because he has injury issues and was advised by Shanahan to retire.

Rumor i've heard is that Trotter has an open invitation to return to the eagles in another capacity (There's little doubt in my mind that he won't resign with the eagles eventually...most likely to a 1-day contract to retire at the least)... But, i wouldn't be suprised to see him in a coach like role with the hope that, should the injury bug hit, he could step in...

Sounds like Keith Burns in Denver. He retired and is now an assistant special teams coach for the Broncos. Thing is, if he were to coach in a role as you speak, I can't picture Reid activating him and sticking him in the lineup should there be a rash of injuries.
