Whats your problem, Bud?

What's your problem, Bud?

Barry Bonds is four home runs away from breaking Hank Aaron’s home run record. But unfortunately, a moment that should be cherished and esteemed by baseball fans everywhere, has transfigured into a horrible debacle. So who is to blame for this turmoil? BALCO? Barry Bonds? I say no. I put full blame on Bud “Sour grapes” Selig.

Selig has still yet to make a call on whether or not he will attend Bonds’ march towards history. The record, that Selig claims, “the most hallowed record in American sports,” apparently isn’t all that important to him. It makes me wonder if Selig might, or might not be , a robot. Who wouldn’t want to watch that? Better yet, isn't this exactly what he gets paid for? I thought that the commissioner was just a pleasurable thing for Fox zooms in on during big games; you know, a little old lady's eye candy, of sorts.

If you asked any baseball fan to go watch someone break one of the greatest records of all time, how many would say, “Sorry bro, gotta check my schedule first.” (Sorry most douche bags in my mind call people “bro”). I just can’t wrap my mind around this concept. What could possibly win over Bud Selig's attention in July that would cause him to miss a spectacle in his sport ? Sorry Barry got to go help the Devil Rays set their soda prices for optimum cola efficiency.

Now, I know that Selig is using the pending litigations of the BALCO trial as his reason for his lack of a decision. He continues to emphasize his eagerness to do what is best for baseball. You know what I think would be “b [1] est for baseball?" A commissioner who treats every major record-breaking feat with the respect and notability it deserves. Now, I know that those winds can get pretty chilly coming off McCovey cove. And trust me, I know that Selig's side-job being Mr. Burns' body double might suffer just a little bit. But those are just a few of the down sides to his otherwise easy job. I just wonder one thing...

What happened to being innocent until proven guilty? Now I know that most signs point to Bonds’ guilt. But Selig should wait until something official comes out (in this I mean legal, not just hear say and tattle tales). Would people shut-up if Selig made a decision? I think so. Here’s why. It would show that baseball has a unified stance on this issue. It would imply that even though Bonds might have juiced, “baseball” will wait until actual proof comes to light. It's saying that baseball is going stand superior to hear say and gossip. If black and white evidence does surface then baseball will be forced to take action. Until that day, run baseball like it should be run with respect and dignity.

Show some class Bud.

"A moment that should be cherished and esteemed by baseball fans everywhere...." Old Tyrone would be belating F-bombs left and right about now which undoubtedly would yield about 30 comments per second here calling me out in every direction. However that would only escalate post straight to the top of the homepage. Not gonna happen. Besides, you guys already know where I stand on this issue. Having said that, as commissioner of baseball, Bud Selig has no choice but to bear witness to the monster that he helped create by pretending it never existed in the first place. Fair enough gang? End tyranny. Vote Briggs.

I have no problem with F-bombs as long as you're right in their use. Which you would be here, so go for it.

I think "right" and "wrong" here is pretty subjective stuff. End tyranny. Vote Briggs.

Barry and Bud should be forced to play the string out on this mess they've particpated in creating. The post-game handshake photograph can be the crowning touch on the cheater and his facilitator.

"What happened to being innocent until proven guilty?" HE ADMITTED TO THE GRAND JURY THAT HE USED THE CREAM AND THE CLEAR. He claimed he didn't know what was in them at the time.

Also, "innocent until proven guilty" really only applies to the criminal justice system and legal matters. Just because O.J. was proven not guilty in a court of law does not mean he didn't commit the crime. Just because Michael Jackson isn't in jail doesn't mean he never touched them kids. Just cause I saw Paris Hilton and Justin Timberlake at a club drunk off their ass while they were still minors doesn't mean my cop buddy was gonna arrest them. Bonds is guilty of using banned substances because he did, admitted it, and knows it doesn't matter because he can get away with it.

To which part? I'll assume you mean that he didn't know, which definitely is BS.
