What im tired of listening to.

by PSU ROCKS

Im tired of people saying how bad the Philadelphia Eagles safties are. We have Brian Dawkins at FS. He's the hardest hitting player in the NFL and would undoubtably start on any teams roster. He's the best there is in the league at FS. Not to mention some of the best entrances in the league, which he gets from cartoons.

Then you go to SS where we have Sean Considine, who was amazing last year, and a good backup in Quintin Mikell who is very good as well. The CB's are both good, with Lito Sheppard and Sheldon Brown. And if you saw the final game of the season when the Eagles played the Atlanta Falcons and used all 2nd and 3rd string players (because they were in the playoffs already) the backup left CB Joselio Hanson played a phenominal game.

Wanna argue about something in this cause im game.

Considine has put on some muscle this off-season. Last year, he was hampered by a shoulder injury that prevented weight lifting. Dawkins is a concern, however. He is, after all, 34. He may be one play away from his career coming to an end.

Considine is not at the Michael Lewis circa 2002 or 2003...Dawkins is old and Considine is a little bit slow... The eagles safeties, are by no means, bad...but there are depth concerns in the secondary (Jim Johnson even said it!) and the pressure from the line isn't helping them much (and that's the key to a good secondary)

Dawkins may only be the third hardest hitting safety in his own division. Think Sean Taylor and Roy Williams.

Just because he can hit hard doesn't make Dawkins great. Other factors apply.

Dawkins is a much better safety than Taylor or Williams...they all hit hard and getting hit by a 50 mph truck and a 60 mph still hurts like a mother-f***er... What Dawk has lost in age he's made up in savvy...every year we do here about how he's got to slow down and he hasn't yet...i think you'll see JJ adjust for dawkins, but we do need a better SS because that's the QB of the Defense

Considering that there Joe is, was, and will be...you're probably right... Suprisingly, even among PSU haters, Joe is revered as a football legend...and deservedly so...if you wanna see class, look what joe did to those kids who got in trouble over the summer...the cleaning crew at beaver stadium thanks them...dearly...

Dawkins is and has always been a fs. Dawkins is great but considine is far from it. Considine may have put on muscle but it doesnt mean a thing if you cant produce on sundays, its not all about being a weight room warrior

FS= free saftie and SS= strong saftie and Dawkins has always been a FS and Joe Pa is the best coach ever just look at his career and the teams he produced. We had the best team in college football history in 1993 and were screwed out of a national title And that team will live in Penn State loyals and propally every other college football fans heart forever
