What Now...

The Minnesota Timberwolves traded away their superstar earlier this off-season, and got some pretty good young players in return with Jefferson, Gomes and Green. Now, they have those young players and some older people, many of whom no longer want to play in Minnesota. So, what do the Wolves do now to make the off-season complete before the season opens in November?
First off, they need to come up with a game plan and figure out who they want and don't want. Do you want to keep Davis and risk bad chemistry? Do you want to make Jaric and Howard happy, and trade them? Do you want to trade Hassel before his minutes drastically go down?
They can't do all of these things, but a few will need to happen.
If it were up to me, I'd trade Blount, Davis and Jaric.
By trading Davis, they'd free up a space for McCants and possibly allow Foye to play the SG spot and Telfair to play more at PG. Trading Blount would allow Jefferson time at C, and would also allow Smith and Gomes to split time at the PF spot. Then, Jaric would free up cap space, and get rid of a guy that no longer wants to play here.
No trade will be easy, but they are necessary if the Wolves want the rebuilding to start this season. By making trades, young guys will get minutes this season, and get going right away.
Also, trading away some of these guys would allow these people to compete for starting spots:
PG: Foye - Telfair SG: Green - Foye - McCants SF: Brewer - Gomes - Smith? - McCants? PF: Jefferson - Gomes - Smith C: Jefferson - Gomes - Smith
There is no telling when the Wolves will be active again, but you can bet they won't just sit there until November rolls around.
