CBS Sportsline Fantasy Football
CBS Sportsline offers services similar to ESPN. Owners in free leagues enjoy access to live scoring and statistics and player news and analysis. What stands out about CBS as opposed to ESPN is the ability of owners to access their leagues and teams from a mobile phone. CBS’s premium fantasy football services boast huge cash prizes. However, entry fees into these leagues are quite steep. The premium service is broken down into 5 tiers: silver, gold, platinum, diamond, and double diamond. With the silver packages, owners can enter one team in a league for $14.95 and take a crack at the $50 prize. It will cost you $7.95 per team to enter any additional teams into the silver leagues. Here is the breakdown for the rest of the tiers:
Gold -- $39.95 for the first team, $29.95 for additional teams Cash prize of $200
Platinum -- $99.95 for the first team, $79.95 for additional teams Cash prize of $600
Diamond -- $249.95 for the first team, $229.95 for additional teams Cash prize of $1,600
Double diamond -- $499.95 for the first team, $449.95 for additional teams Cash prize of $3,500
So, all in all, there is some serious bank to be made by playing CBS Sportsline Fantasy Football. If you’re extremely dedicated to the art of fantasy football and have the financial means to pay to play, CBS definitely rewards winners well. I can’t determine whether ESPN or CBS gives out better prizes, because ESPN doles out material things such as plane tickets, trips, TVs, etc. while CBS writes you a check. Like the ESPN services, I have not used CBS Sportsline for my fantasy football needs, but have used them for fantasy baseball and fantasy hockey. The Sportsline interface is a very slick one and the resources they provide are very useful. If you have used ESPN in the past and are looking for a change but not something that is a “step down”, check out CBS Sportsline Fantasy Football.
