OK so last night showed me that all that talking up that I was doing on the Mountaineers was for nothing.West Virginia did not look like a team that was national championship material they played flat from the time the ball was kicked off. Many factors went into this loss but the biggest thing that I saw was the ridiculous play calling. When it is 3rd down and 11 why would you throw a bubble screen two yards behind the line of scrimmage. I can see doing it to catch a team off gaurd once in a while but it seems like we do that on 85% of our passes. Another thing is that Pat White got hurt which I think was a good thing at least Jarret Brown was moving the ball down the feild. What happened to Steve Slaton he was a non factor in the fourth quarter and most of the third, not because he coulndnt run but when you dont give him the ball he cant do anything. On the bright side if their is one when you turn the ball over 6 times in a game you should lose pretty badly but we only lost by 8. I know that this takes our national hopes away maybe even our Big East title away and we have one of these games every year we ahve a team that we should beat and we come out flat and loose we dont play upto par we dont give the other team the credit that they deserve and we end up paying for it. This is why I wonder if the West Virginaia Mountaineers will ever win A National Title to many things have to go right and I am not sure the planets will ever align for that. On a bright note people questioned our defense I think that they proved to everone last night that they can play with the big teams. USF is no weak opponent and with us turning the ball over 6 times we should have lost by 20 or 30 points but the defense held strong. I am a mountaineer fan but I am very dissappointed in them this week they went to Florida and played a game that they were not ready for and South Florida wanted it more and played like they did.
