Wes Schulmerich (Edward Wesley Schulmerich) was born on August 21, 1901 in Hillsboro, Oregon. He made his Major League debut on May 1, 1931 for the Boston Braves. In 1931, his rookie year, he hit .309 with 2 home runs and 43 RBI. Schulmerich played for the Boston Braves, Philadelphia Phillies and Cincinnati Reds over the course of his 4 year career.

Most people believe that Wes Schulmerich's best season was 1933, when he hit for a .318 average and knocked in 72 runs.
