Wes Matthews (Wesley Carroll Matthews) was born on October 10, 1943 in San Antonio, Texas. After going to high school at Muskogee (OK), Matthews attended Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College and Oklahoma State University. Matthews made his professional debut in the AFL in 1966 with the Miami Dolphins. He played for the Miami Dolphins for his entire 1 year career.
