Wendell Butcher (Wendell Ralph Butcher) was born on March 28, 1914 in Worthington, Minnesota. Butcher attended Gustavus Adolphus College. Butcher made his professional debut in the NFL in 1938 with the Brooklyn Dodgers. He played for the Brooklyn Dodgers for his entire 5 year career.

Most people believe that 1938 was Wendell Butcher's best year.
